We start off 2018 with higher fuel prices for both petrol and diesel in the UAE for January 2018.
As per the announcement by the Ministry of Energy, the price of Super or 98 unleaded gasoline has been set to AED 2.24 – an increase of 0.09 fils – while Special or 95 unleaded gasoline will cost AED 2.12 for January, an increase of 0.08 fils on December prices.
Also, 91 unleaded gasoline will cost AED 2.05 per litre – an increase of 0.08 fils.
Truckers and diesel car owner will also incur higher rates, set at AED 2.33 for January, according to the Ministry of Energy, which is an increase of 0.13 fils.
Also to be noted, VAT is inclusive in gasoline and deisel prices starting January 1, 2018, the ministry added.
The highest prices that the UAE motorists had to pay was in August 2015, the first month after the deregulation, when 98 unleaded gasoline and 95 unleaded gasoline were priced at Dh2.25 and Dh 2.14 per litre – respectively.
