The all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 29th, adding yet another chapter to its legendary story with reiteration of it’s world renowned combination of off-road capability, authentic Jeep design, open-air freedom, and an array of innovative safety and advanced technologies.
GO-ANYWHERE 4×4 CAPABILITY
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler features two advanced 4×4 systems, new Selec-Trac full-time 2-speed transfer case, Tru-Lock electric front- and rear-axle lockers, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and the electronic sway-bar disconnect. Wrangler Rubicon models offer improved articulation and total suspension travel versus the previous generation. The approach angle has been set to a remarkable 44 degrees, breakover angle at 27.8 degrees, departure angle at 37 degrees and ground clearance of 275 mm.
REITERATED JEEP WRANGLER DESIGN
The all-new Wrangler’s unique exterior design includes an instantly recognizable keystone-shaped grille, iconic round headlamps and square taillamps, improved aerodynamics, a convenient fold-down windshield, dozens of different door, top and windshield combinations. And for the first time the Wrangler will feature LED lamps at bothe ends.
The all-new interior combines authentic styling, precision craftsmanship and high-quality materials that result in improved versatility and comfort for drivers and passengers.
NEW TECHNOLOGIES
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler features three new Uconnect systems (Uconnect 5-, 7- and 8.4NAV), delivering communication, entertainment and navigation features. These new, fourth-generation Uconnect systems include a full-color LED instrument cluster, the choice of 5.0, 7.0- or 8.4-inch touchscreens with pinch-and-zoom capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. Keeping safety and security as priority, the new generation of Jeep Wrangler vehicles offers more than 75 available active and passive safety and security features.
NEW POWERTRAINS
Besides the tried-and-tested 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, Jeep have also added new fuel-efficient powertrains to the Wrangler lineup in North America including the all-new 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, rated at 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, and the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engines rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. or torque. All engines will be mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. A 6-speed manual will be standard on V6 gasoline models.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2-door model is available in three different trim configurations: Sport, Sport S and Rubicon. Wrangler 4-door models are available in four different trim configurations: Sport, Sport S, Sahara and Rubicon. Model designations for the Middle East and their pricing details have yet to be announced.
