The UAE’s Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday that fuel prices for both petrol and diesel will be increased for the second consecutive month in line with surge in global crude price.
Price for unleaded gasoline 98 AKA Super 98, has been increased by 6.3 per cent from AED 1.89 to AED 2.01 per litre for the month of September 2017. Meanwhile, Special 95 or Unleaded gasoline 95 has been upped from AED 1.78 to AED 1.90, an increase of 6.7 per cent. unleaded gasoline 91 price has also been increased from AED 1.71 to AED 1.83 for September. Truckers and motorists using alternative fuel such as diesel will also have to pay an extra 12 fils, at AED 2 per litre.
When we look back at the fuel prices for the year 2017, petrol prices in the UAE peaked in March with unleaded gasoline 98, 95 and 91 priced at Dh2.03, Dh1.92 and Dh1.85 -respectively. While the month of July saw the lowest petrol and diesel price for the year in the UAE.
