Japanese auto-maker will reveal the sporty new Toyota Yaris GRMN hatchback at the Geneva motor show taking place from the 9 – 19 March alongside the new Yaris WRC that’s set to make its race debut next week at the Monte Carlo Rally.
The new form is based on a 3-door Yaris body and is powered by supercharged 1.8-litre engine producing more than 210 bhp, bridging the gap between Yaris WRC and the standard road-going production model. Not just this particular Toyota Yaris GRMN, but the entire Yaris range will benefit from design modifications, including new front and rear styling and a more modern cabin. An array of technical modifications are also being introduced to improve the car’s overall comfort and handling characteristics.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Yaris Hybrid remains a unique offering in the small hatch/B-segment and currently accounts for more than 40 per cent of all new Yaris sales in Europe. This model, however, is not available in the Middle East.
