Toyota’s luxury marque, Lexus have launched the 6th generation model of their mid-size front-wheel-drive sedan, the 2013 Lexus ES.
The highlights of the new design are
– A new front end with a spindle grille resembling that on the GS 350
– New tail lamps that are quite similar to the GS and soon to be launched flagship LS model
– The interiors, especially the dashboard are also GS inspired with a mouse like joystick to control the cursor on the 3.5” colour multi-media screen
– There is 60mm more rear leg room for rear passengers
There are two powertrains available on the Lexus ES. The all-new ES250, borrows the 181 bhp 2.5-litre four cylinder engine from the new Toyota Camry. The ES 350 however retains the 272 bhp 3.5-litre V6 of the current generation. Both are matched to a 6-speed automatic.
The ES 250 is only available in a single trim and is priced at AED155,000. It comes equipped with keyless entry, a sunroof, cruise control and LED DRLs.
The ES 350 is available in three different trim levels namely, Prestige, Platinum and Titanium and their prices are AED 180,000, AED 195,000 and AED 220,000 respectively. The Platinum upgrade comes with a DVD player, HDD-based navigation, the Remote Touch interface, a rear view camera, different design for the alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof.
