Infiniti claim that their M Hybrid is the fastest accelerating production hybrid car on the planet. They say that it will beat the pace set by the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid. Fortunately the record was seconded by the Guiness Book of World Records back in the August of 2011.
On paper, its a dead heat. The M Hybrid is powered by a 360-hp hybrid motor, borrowing pulse from a 3.5-litre V6 with 258 lb-ft of torque and a 50kW electric motor. The Porsche Panamera S Hybrid on the other hand, makes 380 bhp; a combined effort of a 333 bhp turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 and a 34kW (47 bhp) electric motor. Porsche claim 6 seconds to a ton, while Infiniti posts a number smaller than that.
According to TFLcar.com, even the 338-bhp 3.5-litre V6 Lexus GS 450h is slower to a 100 km/h by a while. So its unanimous, the Infiniti takes the crowning glory. To Infiniti and beyond…[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TDYrTGyRfw&feature=player_embedded]
