The Dodge Viper ACR is back, and it raises its head as the fastest street-legal Viper ever built. The hand-built American supercar builds on its legacy of consistently delivering lap time-busting performances through enhanced aerodynamics, powertrain, brakes and chassis refinements.
The new ACR Extreme Aero Package delivers nearly 1 ton of peak downforce at the top speed of 177 mph or 285 km/h, through massive adjustable dual-element carbon-fibre rear wing, rear carbon-fibre diffuser, unique SRT hood with removable louvers, detachable extension for the front splitter and additional dive planes. The Extreme Aero package delivers more than three times the downforce of the Viper TA (Time Attack) 2.0 package.
The hand-crafted 8.4-litre V-10 powertrain rakes in 645 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world. In comparison, the 2008/2009 Viper ACR maintained the standard Viper’s 600 hp and 560 lbs.-ft. Just so you know, The 2008 Viper ACR set a new track record at the famous 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany with an elapsed time of 7:22.1. and the 2010 model did 7:12.13.
A standard the engine is mated to a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission for the task of multiplying torque.
Unmatched brake fade resistance is achieved through ACR-exclusive Carbon Ceramic Matrix 15-inch two-piece Brembo brakes that consist of 6-piston 390-millimeter (15.4-inch) two-piece front rotors and 4-piston 360-millimeter (14.2-inch). The unique race-tuned suspension features 10-setting, double-adjustable, coil-over Bilstein racing shocks and also provides more than 3 inches of ride height adjustment.
Specially designed Kumho Ecsta V720 tires (355/30 in back and 295/25 in front) with 19-inch wheels at all four corners make up the largest combined tyre patch available on any production car. All in all, providing for superior stopping power, extra grip and race-car-like cornering stability.

With a 3-speaker stereo, a lightweight alternative carpet and manual seats, Dodge has strived to make the 2016 ACR more lightweight.
