Ron Howard directs Nikki Lauda based F1 movie ‘Rush’

Rush, the action thriller based on the real racing lives of Nikki Lauda and James Hunt captures Ron Howard’s perspective of their epic 1976 Formula 1 World Championship rivalry, the year Lauda brushed shoulders with death.

The production stills reveal the on-camera looks of Daniel Brühl as Lauda and Chris Hemsworth as Hunt.

Peter Morgan, the Academy Award nominee for films such as Frost/Nixon and The Last King of Scotland  has authored the screenplay.

The movie was shot in the UK, Germany and Austria. Rush is poised to release on September 20, 2013

Ron Howard’s credibility is apparent from movies like the Oscar winning Cocoon, Apollo 13, How the Grinch stole Christmas and A Beautiful Mind. He is also known for his 6-year act in the sitcom Happy days.
