Porsche announced on it’s Facebook page that their 770 bhp 918 Spyder lapped the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 14 seconds. That probably makes it the fastest hybrid car around the circuit.
However, the state-of-tune and the type of tyres used were not mentioned.
Rivals with within that time frame also include the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package (7:14:64), the Donkervoort D8 RS (7:14:89), the Dodge Viper ACR (7:12:13), the Gumpert Apollo Sport (7:11:57) and a couple of sub-7 minute Radicals that barely meet the production car criteria.
FYI, the last fastest time clocked by the Stuttgart manufacturer was 7 minutes 18 seconds in the 611 bhp Porsche 911 (997) GT2 RS.
