The French auto-manufacturer, Renault recently invited former rally driver Jean Ragnotti to pilot the A110-50 Concept, the car that celebrates 50 years of the original A110, around the twisties of the Alps.
Rangotti earned his laurels, winning the gold at both the Monte Carlo Rally as well as the Rallye de France in the Renault 5Turbo Group B.
As soon as the Rangotti ventures into an abandoned stretch of tarmac, he is pursued by an image of his former self behind the wheel of an original A110.
In reality, the A110-50 would run rings around the classic, courtesy of its 400 bhp turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 and lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork.
Then again, there is no son without a father and that is what the A110-50 Concept celebrates…it’s father.
