It is official, the Nürburgring is officially up for sale! This includes the arena, museum, Norschleife and even the once-operating roller coaster. The government-owned motorsports complex filed for bankruptcy in July 2012.
There is fear amongst the members of the public whether this will turn into a private playground if purchased by a private investor. It would make sense for a syndicate of auto-manufacturers to pick up the circuit, it can serve as their own test facility and perhaps they could open it up for the public on weekends.
