Nissan Signs Margot Robbie To Endorse Electric Vehicle Programme

Nissan Signs Margot Robbie, the Australian actress who starred in movies like Focus, Suicide Squad and The Wolf of Wall Street as the new face of Nissan’s electric vehicle and zero emission programme.

In the first of an expected mini-movie series, Robbie takes a radical all-electric Nissan BladeGlider for afterdark drive around an empty Monaco to counter conventional notions about the electric car. The Nissan BladeGlider she drives forms part of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility vision. It is powered by a 220kWh battery can produce upto 707 Nm of torque and can hit 100km/h in less than five seconds from a stand still and reach a top speed of 190 km/h.

After Margot Robbie supposedly drives the bolts of the 3-seater sports car around the closed Monaco street circuit, she meets with another BladeGlider. The two 272 PS performance cars then race through the iconic Tunnel and before finishing in the Casino Square. But it is not clear who won! The actress is also demonstrates the drifting prowess of Nissan BladeGlider around one of the most famous corners in the world of motorsport – the iconic Fairmont Hairpin.

Margot Robbie stated, “It’s a really exciting time for electric vehicles. More people are choosing to go electric, leading the way to a more sustainable future and the Nissan BladeGlider hints at the future of smarter performance cars.”

As the manufacturer of the world’s best-selling electric vehicle, the LEAF, Nissan is also revolutionizing the way energy is generated and utilized with products like its intelligent xStorage Home unit and vehicle-to-grid technology, which harness the power of battery technology from electric vehicles.

The Nissan BladeGlider was developed from a concept car first debuted in 2013 and was recently showcased at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show.

Interesting, Monte Carlo provided the perfect venue such a stint involving speed, drifting action and the idea of sustainability. Monaco has a rich street racing heritage, but is now also driven by an ambition decrease carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

Harley Quinn is a good choice, much thanks to her brash mannerisms, but we think Two-Face would have been a better deal as the face(s) of Nissan EV programme.
