Earlier this week, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development inaugurated a new road that will serve motorists commuting from Sharjah to Dubai. Along the road, three lanes, two kilometres length have been added before the slip road to accommodate motorists travelling to Dubai.
This road is part of AED 200 million Al Badeaa project implemented to develop the intersection of Emirates and Maliha roads in Sharjah. The new stretch will thereby ease traffic movement towards Maliha Road.
The project consists of three developments, including the construction of a new bridge directed towards the University City. This bridge will comprise three lanes with traffic commuting in one direction only. The second phase will be a constructing a new exit from Sharjah to Dubai, comprising of three lanes. The third and final phase will be an extension of the existing bridge at the intersection of Emirates road and Maliha road.
There would be three to seven lanes divided into five main lanes and separate exits, plus another two lanes for those returning.
The entire project is expected to finish by late 2017.
