It is official, the new MG ZS, which debuted at the 14th Guangzhou International Auto Exhibition, will be making its way into Middle East showrooms, late 2017. The new SUV exhibits the new styling direction from MG and a host of new-fangled technologies.
Armed with an intelligent internet system, the MG ZS provides each user with an independent log-in ID. This system can recognize the driver and personalise functions such as remote control unlocking and air-conditioning. The voice command can be used to open / close the sunroof, adjust the air-conditioner, control music playback and navigation.
MG also claim that the model’s flexible navigation system is capable of independent route planning, map zooming by speed and responding to road conditions with zero engagement of the driver.
The new styling ethos is defined by Big Dipper-shaped tail lamps at the rear and up front the body of the MG ZS is equipped with a galvanized sky-star grille, and striking headlamps inspired by the London Eye. The MG ZS also has a draping shoulder, tight beltline and drawn-backward side windows.
The MG ZS’s interior is wrapped with two-tone materials while the top of the console is embellished with a silver trim strip. The dashboard will house an 8-inch LCD screen. A rear-view camera and panoramic sunroof are also available as standard.
The MG ZS will offer a choice of two petrol engines: a 1.0T (16T) and 1.5L. The peak power and torque outputs are 125 hp and 170 Nm for the turbo charged litre engine, while the 1.5L, makes 120 hp and 150Nm.
