The soon-to-be-released all-new Megane Renault Sport will be the first hot hatch to feature 4CONTROL four-wheel steering and will offer customers a choice between two chassis set ups.
Renault Sport engineers have calibrated this new four wheel steer technology to raise agility, cornering performance and steering precision especially at high speeds by enabling the car’s rear wheels to assist in steering by means of an electromagnetic actuator mounted on the rear axle.
The new Megane Renault Sport customers will also be able to choose between two different chassis: a Sport chassis, which combines high performance and ride comfort in everyday use or a Cup chassis, engineered to deliver the ultimate track performance experience. As for transmission, both manual or dual-clutch transmissions will be made available.
Times ahead are interesting, as Renault have work cut out for themselves … by Honda who have set the fastest lap time of 7 min 43.8 seconds around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in the front-wheel drive Honda Civic Type R which is capable of sending 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels.
We love the chequered flag fog lamp detailing in the front area, but nothing else can be highlighted – stylistically – of this highly camouflaged model featured above. But stay tuned!
Meanwhile, Nico Hülkenberg, Renault Sport Formula One team driver and Megane RS Technical Advisor, tested out the many variants of the new Megane Renault Sport and its 4CONTROL. Here is what he had to say about it!
