INFINITI Middle East has unveiled the new 2017 YM line-up for the INFINITI Q50 sports sedan with a number of performance and dynamic upgrades.
The highlight of the range is the new high-performance Q50 Red Sport 400 with its 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine with direct injection that churns out 400 bhp (298 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) maximum torque at 1,600-5,200 rpm. With all the new-found power the Q50 Red Sport 400 can get from zero to 100 in under 5 seconds. But power upgrades besides, don’t expect much else in terms of dynamic advantage.
Also available is a detuned version of the new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo making 300 bhp (224 kW) version, produced at 6,400 rpm) produces 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) torque at 1,600-5,200 rpm – this replaces the 3.7-litre V6 available previously. The base model is powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces 208 horsepower at 5,500 rpm with peak torque of 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) available from 1,500 rpm.
Customers with earth-saving intentions can opt for the hybrid model called the Q50 Blue Sport which combines a 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC aluminium-alloy V6 and a compact laminated lithium-ion battery with an innovative one-motor, two-clutch control as before. The hybrid system net power is 350 bhp with a combined torque of 536 Nm.
Also making its debut second-generation Infiniti’s industry leading Direct Adaptive Steering, which has been enhanced after gathering customer feedback from around the world and completing 625,000 miles of real-world testing.
The new Q50 also features Infiniti’s Dynamic Digital Suspension (DDS) for the first time. Drivers can tailor the dynamic settings via the “Personal” mode using Q50’s Drive Mode Selector (DMS) , which permits them to set engine, suspension and steering characteristics.
The INFINITI Q50 Red Sport 3.0t 400 is available across the Middle East from AED 210,000, while the entry level Q50 2.0t is available from AED 136,500.
