The Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond Airlifted After Fiery Crash

Richard Hammond has been airlifted to an hospital after a fiery life-threatening crash where he lost traction over one of the many corners in Switzerland’s country side, while filming an episode of The Grand Tour, while driving the Rimac Concept_One electric hypercar.

The TV presenter known as the “The Hamster”, is one among the trio of oddly shaped humanoids that present the automotive show ‘The Grand Tour’.

As for the Rimac Concept_One, it is a 1224HP hypercar that puts out 1600 Nm of torque and is capable of getting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Top speed is a 355 km/h. In earlier videos, the Concept_One has been seen comfortably beating the Mclaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari, Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 918 Spyder – so this car is seriously fast. And presumably tricky to handle as well…simply because the limits are much higher.

According to BBC, he was conscious and got out of the car himself, after the crash and besides the fractured knee is relatively unhurt. We wish him a speedy recovery!
