The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray debuted in January 2013 at the Detroit Auto Show and since then it faced some criticism for its angular rear end. Autoweek had a chat with GM’s director of exterior design for performance cars, fullsize trucks and large crossovers, Tom Peters on this ‘badass’ topic.
Peter says that he wanted to “create as much newness as possible,” and the squared-off taillights give the new Corvette its own signature styling and that it was purposely made to have some resemblance with the Camaro.
We think that like the how the simplistic Lamborghini Murcielago was replaced by the overly angular Aventador, the same is happening with the Corvette. In the case of the Lambo however, it sticks with you after a while. And how about the Corvette? Time will tell.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjIpxB9xocI&feature=player_embedded]
