An airbag is a safety device used in an automobile. If the associated sensors detect impact of a certain degree, the airbag is designed to inflate extremely rapidly so that the occupants are cushioned from the impact; and then they quickly deflate. The airbag module consists of the airbag cushion, a flexible fabric bag, inflation module and impact sensor. Airbags only work effectively, in conjunction with the use of seat belts. Besides front airbags, premium vehicles also come with knee airbags and curtain airbags.
