Fuel Prices To Rise For March 2017 In The UAE

According to the Ministry of Energy, fuel prices will rise for March 2017 in the UAE. The  announcement meant that motorists will pay AED 2.03 per litre for Super 98 and Special 95 will retail at AED 1.92, both up 1.5 per cent from February 2017. While E Plus will be priced at AED 1.85, up 1.6 per cent from last months rate. Expenses for trucker and diesel vehicle owners will rise with diesel being priced at AED 2.02 –  an increment of 1 per cent.

The increment may seem small but this is the first time that both Super 98 and diesel now cost more than AED 2 a litre.

For comparison sake, in February motorists paid AED 2 for a litre of Super 98, AED 1.89 for Special 95 and AED 1.82 for E Plus. While, diesel costed AED 2 a litre as well.

So if you are topping up the 55-litre fuel tank of a Toyota Corolla, you will now have to pay close to AED 106. And if you drive, a Toyota Land Cruiser with a 5.7-litre engine you will have to shell out approximately AED 265 to have it filled to the brim. And finally if you drive a high-performance vehicle with a high-compression ration like a Porsche 718 Boxster you be poorer by AED 110 approximately, after a plug-in at the fuel station.
