First Pic Of The 2017 Land Rover Discovery & Global Debut Details

Here is the first teaser image of its all-new 2017 Land Rover Discovery SUV.

The fifth-generation Land Rover Discovery will make its global debut on the eve of the Paris motor show on September 28th – some 27 years after the first-generation was showcased at the Frankfurt motor show in 1989.

This latest Discovery will remain a full-sized seven seater. However, Land Rover is adding chic to its styling, in an effort to move it upmarket, closer to its Range Rover siblings, whilst claiming to retain its well-known off-road prowess. In their own words, the Indian-owned Land Rover will be combining “British desirability with an unstoppable spirit of adventure”.

The styling direction of this Discovery was first previewed in the Discovery Vision Concept, which was exhibited in New York in April 2014, which was followed by the smaller 7-seater Discovery Sport.

It is likely that the new Discovery will will use the same lighter monocoque structure as the Rangers and that a hybrid version will be offered, in the not too distant future, like its rival, the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7.

In its 27 year production, the Land Rover has sold more than 1.2 million Discoveries and the boffins at Land Rover are hoping to keep the trend.2017-land-rover-discovery-1
