The lustful rush and overwhelming enthusiasm for cars and bikes breaks loose once again in the 6th episode of the Fast & Furious series. And as expected new ranks have been added to the reel-home for tuner mayhem; amongst them include a Plymouth Superbird, Alfa Romeo MiTo, 1973 Jensen Interceptor, a 1969 Dodge Daytona, Mark I Ford Escorts, a 1970s rally car as was, LS7-powered Lister, handcrafted 500 horsepower flip car that loves to throw cop-cars in a circus, an Aston Martin Vanquish from the days of James Bond fame, a Ducati Monster and even a Harley Davidson.
Dennis McCarthy, the film’s Picture Car Coordinator mentioned how a challenge it was to turn a production car in to F&F material. Modifications to keep the crews safe were a priority followed by, engine upgrades which was mostly introducing GMs LS3 to the engine bay, spruced up differentials, drift conducive brakes etc. Almost all the cars were modified in the US and shipped to the specific locations.
Dom might take a bullet to his chest for his little sister, but we cringe to see almost all the 300-plus car being trampled, crashed, crushed and blown to bits for her sake. Then again that’s Fast & Furious for you…
