An Indian rental company, Eco Rent-a-Car in collaboration with the primo fashion brand Estee Lauder have launched a stretched limousine service in Delhi and Mumbai. Chrysler Limousine and Estee Lauder are trying to strike a chord with those in the season of celebrating their weddings. They are trying to create a niche for the bride & groom who revel in stylish-travels. Apparently, the limo is poised to replace the conventional doli.
The wedding packages start at Rs 51,000 for four hours for a decorated Limousine, which roughly translates to 1,000 USD. The limos are also available for as low as Rs. 30,000 (550 USD approx.) for a four hours nightlife or corporate package and Rs. 6000 (110 USD) for each extra hour and 10 kms.
The days of the proverbial knight-in-shining-armour sweeping a damsel off her feet and riding off to the sunset are not over; only this time, it is a threesome with the driver involved and the petrol fumes and CO2 emissions that follow add some refraction to the fading amber light.
