Need for Speed is going to be a movie, and it’s going to arrive in theatres on February 7th 2014. Electronic Arts have given Paramount-owned Dreamworks the greenlight for creating a cinema out of the $ 4 billion video game franchise.
The movie will be based on the entire NFS franchise and not one particular series. Brothers George Gatin and Real Steel screenwriter John Gatin have developed the original story with George writing the screenplay. Scott Waugh, the one responsible for Special Ops flick Act of Valor will direct the movie.

“It’s going to have the live-action sex doll disguised as a female cop, the snarky white guy who is the fashionable anti-hero, the token black sidekick and the bad guy who has no idea he’s going to become a good guy. Oh, and hip-hop music, hip-hop music everywhere.”, as aptly described by a commentor on Joystiq
