GM’s mid-size SUV the Chevrolet Trailblazer has been revamped for 2017. And with it comes improved styling, comfort, technology and performance.
The Trailblazer’s newly modified exterior a revised front grille, bumper and lamps that come with daytime running lights.
Whilst, the interior houses a newly designed dashboard and front console with soft-touch materials and contrast stitching. The full seven-seater’s “theater-style seating” allows second- and third-row occupants a better all-around view and individually controlled air-conditioning zones.
The new Chevrolet Trailblazer comes with a 3.6L engine tuned to offer greater horsepower and torque. It now puts out 275 bhp, up from last years 236 bhp, and 350 Nm of torque, up from last year’s model’s 326 Nm. This will allows the mid-size SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 9 seconds bettering last year’s 9.7 seconds. Even fuel economy is said have been improved.
Complementing the uprated engine ratings is a more rigid chassis and fully boxed frame, which should translate to better ride stability and and overall drive comfort.
Additionally, the 2017 Trailblazer features Electric Power Steering (EPS) that makes steering effort lighter in the city and at parking speeds and heftier as speed builds, improving steering feel. Chevy also claim that over long distances, this technology makes up the track gradient and reduces judder generated by the imbalance of the wheels.
The Trailblazer benefits from a new wind noise package that was developed with newly redesigned door, window and windshield seals; front door glass that is 10 percent thicker; and a new aerodynamic headlamp design. As a result, the Trailblazer is 8 percent quieter on the road than its predecessor.
As standard, the new Trailblazer comes with a host of active and passive safety features that include the Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Anti-Rolling Protection and Trailer Sway Control. This is in addition to front airbags for the driver and passenger.
For 2017, it is fitted with new technologies usually found in the premium segment, such as Apple CarPlay®. This allows the driver or passengers to project a simplified version of their smartphone screen onto the car’s color touchscreen. Complemented by Siri Eyes Free and voice recognition software, the driver can give verbal commands – ensuring his or her hands never have to leave the steering wheel.
Prices for the 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer start at AED 99,900. As standard, the interiors of the base LT 4×2 and 4×4 models comes 18-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch Touch Screen with Chevrolet , MyLinkTM and Apply CarPlayTM phone integration, Bluetooth, USB, and AUX connections. As for the exterior, no-charge options include rear fog lamps, Rear Park Assist, front and underbody skid plate (4WD only), steering wheel audio controls and cruise control.
In addition to these features, both models of the LTZ gets an 8-inch touch screen with Chevrolet MyLinkTM, Apple CarPlayTM phone integration, and navigation, a 7-speaker, premium sound system, leather upholstery, remote starter, automatic climate control, LED Daylight Running lights, front and rear fog lamps, front and Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Zone Alert.
There is also a Z71 package that equips the Trailblazer with 18-inch black-painted alloy Wheels, black hood decals, black body side moldings, black door handles and mirrors and Z71 Emblems.
