According to Bimmer Today, German rag Auto Zeitung got the BMW X6 M to go around Nürburgring Nordschleife in 8 minutes, 20 seconds, with veteran driver Horst von Saurma at the helm.
This puts the X6 M in second behind the current ‘King of the Ring’ the 550-hp Range Rover Sport SVR which set the pace earlier this year for the fastest time by a production SUV clocking a brisk 8:14.
In anycase, BMW boffins must be happy that the 575 bhp Bavarian SUV is four seconds ahead of the last-gen 555-hp X6 and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S that Sport Auto clocked an 8:34 in.
