The General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference (GPEC) held in September in Leipzig, Germany will see BMW present it’s specially developed fleet of 5 Police cars and 3 bikes.
At the stands will be the 3 Series Touring, X3, 7 Series High Security and X5 Security, i3 Concept, R1200RT, G650GS, F800ST and K1600GT.
German federal and state police in all probability will use the 3 Series Touring and X3. These cars will feature iDrive-controlled sirens and LED beacons, meanwhile the electric i3 Concept will enforce law in urban areas where emissions reduction is important.
The BMW 7 Series High Security is rated at VR9 in some cases and VR7 overall while the X5 Security is rated VR4 which is resilient enough to withstand rounds from a .44 Magnum.
Motorcycle officers be offered the latest R1200RT, a bronze-green military version of the G650GS, a prototype of the F800ST and six-cylinder K1600GT.
