The Dubai Police General HQ has two fine new additions to it patrolling fleet and both from the Ingolstadt-based auto-maker, namely the Audi R8 supercar and Audi Q7 full-size SUV.
They will be used as part of an initiative to reach out to residents, especially the youth, on traffic safety.
In stock format, the new Audi R8 V10 Coupe quattro S – powered by a 5.2 liter V10 – makes 540 bhp / 397 kW at 8,250 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, capable of propelling the German supercar from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 320 km/h. As part of the fleet, it will join the company of elite supercars including the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF, Audi A8, McLaren MP4-12C, Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador, Nissan GT-R and the recently added Mclaren 570S.
On the other hand, the new Audi Q7 is a people-friendly 7-seater SUV, designed to be an embodiment of “Vorsprung durch Technik”, which basically translates to “Progress through Technology”. Under the bonnet of the SUV is a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 TFSI that makes 333 hp / 245 kW allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 6.1 seconds.
