Audi’s collaboration with Disney and Marvel Studios continues in the 3rd edition of the Iron Man series. The Audi R8, R8 Spyder, A8, S5, and Q7 were all featured in the first and second installments. But this time around the prototype of the R8 e-tron will make an appearance also.
The R8 E-tron is powered by four electric motors with a total output of 230 kW and 820 Nm of torque. The Audi R8 e-tron accelerates from zero to 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. Its top speed is “electronically limited” to 200 km/h (124.27 mph).
The R8 e-tron’s rechargeable lithium-ion battery can store upto49 kWh of energy allowing a range of 215 kilometers (133.59 miles)
The last time this particular electric car caught some attention was when it broke the world record for a series production electric car, lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 8 minutes and 9.099 seconds. A 250 km/h (155.34 mph) top speed was approved for the record-setting lap.
Iron Man 3 will be in theaters on April 24, 2013; but according to audi.com the release date is May 3, 2013. Either way, it’s going to the movie to watch and watch out for.
