Take a look at the sporty 2014 Lexus IS350 F-Sport before it gets revealed at the Detroit Auto Show on 15 January 2013.
The new IS now gets the family’s spindle grille, a pronounced horizontal waistline, a contoured set of headlamps, swoosh-shaped DRLs that are separate from the main units, side sills with a twist its architecture, increased overall width and a longer wheelbase. The 18-inch black metal rims are direct replication of those on the 552 bhp supercar.
The insides get the LFA supercar-inspired cockpit with thinner sport seats and more room, electrostatic switches for cabin temperature control and 60:40 folding rear seats. The seat hip point and lowered steering wheel to induce a sporty feel.
F-Sport models are instantly recognized by an exclusive grille and front bumper design. The ‘waistline’ of the grille is higher than on standard models, increasing the area of the lower grille to make it capable of drawing in a larger volume of air for cooling. Cabin trim detailing includes a moving “driver’s meter” in the dashboard, perforated leather finish to the steering wheel and shift knob, metal film 3-D-effect ornamentation, black seat stitching, and aluminium pedals and scuff plates. A choice of three F-Sport interior color schemes includes an exclusive Rioja Red finish.
The F-Sport package will be available on the IS250, IS350, IS300h which is equipped with Lexus Hybrid Drive. The hybrid will not come stateside but will be available in Europe, Japan and other international markets.
Now we wait on the 2014 G sedan …oops, the Q50 sedan from Infiniti…
