UK speeders may avoid fines due to improper signage

M42 trafficAccording to The Telegraph, several speeding tickets issued to drivers over the last six years while driving through a section of the M42 highway west of Coventry may not be valid. Why so? Apparently, a series of signs indicating variable speed limits were created use a font that is too narrow.

A Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions document that has existed since 2002 states that traffic signs must adhere to standards. And a group of advocates are using this opportunity to null the fines issued to the motorists.
