Check out these snaps, specifications and features for the all-new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, which recently made a debut in production guise on Nissan’s Facebook page.
The Nissan Pathfinder will borrow Infiniti JX’s 3.5-litre V6 engine, which produces 260 bhp (194kW) and 240 lb-ft (325 Nm) of torque, replacing the current generation’s 270 bhp 4.0-litre V6. Those figures are also down on the Infiniti by 5 and 8 respectively. It will be matched to a CVT transmission. Improvements in fuel efficiency also have been quoted, 18 mpg against the current gen’s 14 mpg. The drivetrain will send power to all four corners, and comes equipped with a 2WD mode and a fully lockable 4WD mode.
Amongst the listed features you will also find a remote starter so that you can get the a/c running before you get in, a 4.2″ touch screen navigation system with an all-round view monitor and two 7″ monitors for the rear passengers, a dual panel moon roof, a 13-speaker Bose sound system, tri-zone climate control, hill start assist, a child seat mode, intelligent key and advanced memory settings that remembers driver’s seat, steering wheel, exterior mirrors, navigation system, audio system, and climate controls.
As for practicality, you get 16 cu. ft of space in the boot, drop down the 3rd row and that number climbs to 47.8 cu. ft. if you have luggage that occupies more length and volume drop down row 2 and get up to 79.8 cu. ft.
The new Pathfinder might or might not be a good car, but it has lost chunks of ruggedness and has now become a family and city friendly MPV of sorts…like the Mercedes-Benz ML. What’s you take on it?
