German publication Auto Motor und Sport performed the “Moose Test” on the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and stated that the American SUV did not experience a roll over causing two-wheel lift off during the test.
The “Moose Test” a.k.a. “Elk Test” is a set of multiple repetitions of an emergency evasive maneuver.
This is quite unlike the video produced by Swedish magazine Teknikens Varld which shows a Grand Cherokee experiencing two-wheel lift-up and and a near roll over during a simulated emergency lane change.
Chrysler’s response was that the Jeep was intentionally overloaded and sent an engineering team to reproduce the test with the magazine.
